Electronics Laboratory (1N-002)

The Electronics Laboratory is used for ENS 309 (Basic Measurement Laboratory) and ENS 429 (Digital Electronics Laboratory). The adjacent laboratory preparation room (1N-002a) has a fairly complete inventory of electronic components which are used for Basic Measurement Laboratory and IC chips which are used for designing digital logic circuits. Oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, strain gauge indicators with switch boxes, digital breadboard equipment and microcomputers with printers are some of the equipment available for student use.

Mechanical Engineering Laboratory I (1N-007)

In this laboratory students conduct experiments in the area of Fluid Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics. This laboratory is equipped with modern instrumentation for analyzing the performance of a four stroke spark ignition engine, a compression ignition engine, and a two stroke engine. Two hydraulics benches with accessories are also housed in this area. A fairly complete set of instruments and two data acquisition systems are available to students. A machine shop in room 1N-104 is adequately equipped for the design projects of the students enrolled in Advanced Engineering Design (ENS 480).

Mechanical Engineering Laboratory II (5N-109)

In this laboratory students perform experiments related to structural material testing. The backbone of the facility is a Tinius Olsen Universal Testing Machine. There are hardness testers, a torsion testing machine and a Tensometer. Both analog and digital instrumentation required to analyze data from experiments is readily available.

Microprocessor Laboratory (1N-108)

This laboratory is used for ENS 462 (Microprocessor Laboratory) and ENS 480 (Advanced Engineering Design). This laboratory has available for students use oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, microcomputer and associated equipment, microprocessor development systems for interfacing, and digital breadboard equipment.

Solid Mechanics Laboratory (1N-103)

This laboratory is equipped with a 10,000 lb. Instron machine and is primarily used for some student experiments and research.

Engineering Systems Laboratory (1N-003)

This laboratory is used for ENS 439 (Systems Laboratory) and at times for ENS 309 (Basic Measurement Laboratory). It is also used for the electrical design projects undertaken in ENS 480 (Advanced Engineering Design). The laboratory preparation room (1N-002a), which is shared with Electronics Laboratory (1N-002), has an inventory of IC chips which are used for designing digital logic and analog circuits. Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, dynamic signal analyzers, multimeters, AM, FM, PM equipment, sweep generators, variable filters, microcomputers and associated equipment, sampling oscilloscope, digital storage oscilloscopes, torsional pendulum, heat control system, and electric motors are among the equipment available for students use.
