general interests are in the field of strongly correlated quantum many
body systems. These are superconductors and superfluids, Bose-Einstein
condensates (BEC) of trapped ultracold atoms and molecules. Specific
topics include: Quantum phase transitions; emerging irreversibility in
many body systems; Josephson effect in superconductors and BEC; fractional
vortices; solitons and solitary waves; Mott-insulator - superfluid
transitions in atomic mixtures in optical lattices, supersolids, novel
quantum phases. I also perform Monte Carlo simulations of strongly
interacting bosonic systems (http://montecarlo.csi.cuny.edu/umass).
