Anatoly B. Kuklov

M.S. & B.S., Moscow Physics & Engineering Institute, 1979

Ph.D. (Physics), Odessa State University, Ukraine, 1986

Professor of Physics

My general interests are in the field of strongly correlated quantum many body systems. These are superconductors and superfluids, Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) of trapped ultracold atoms and molecules. Specific topics include: Quantum phase transitions; emerging irreversibility in many body systems; Josephson effect in superconductors and BEC; fractional vortices; solitons and solitary waves; Mott-insulator - superfluid transitions in atomic mixtures in optical lattices, supersolids, novel quantum phases. I also perform Monte Carlo simulations of strongly interacting bosonic systems (http://montecarlo.csi.cuny.edu/umass). This work is supported by the National Science Foundation  (grant  PHY-0426814) .
